Provides health care services to long term care residents and employees of assisted living facilities under direction and responsibility of Physician, requiring the following qualifications: High level of independence with minimum 3 years experience. Full and part-time positions available. Applicants must have reliable transportation in order to perform on site patient examinations. Responsible for performing medical services within a specified geographical region. Experience in Urgent Care and Geriatics are pluses. Positions available in Hendersonville, Charlotte, Hickory, Greensboro, Raleigh, Wilmington, North East Coastal. A high level of responsibility and independence is expected.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Examines patient, performs physical examinations including comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, managing infection.
Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes and assists in provision of continuity of care.
Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living and health maintenance.
Record regular MD/PA meetings per NC medical board requirements. A new hire Mid-Level must have monthly meetings with the supervising Physician for 6 months and then meetings at least once every 6 months. This is to continue while PA is employed. All MD/PA meetings will be documented and signed by both the PA and the supervising Physician.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises up to two employees in the Clinical Staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assist in training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Either Bachelor of Science or higher with Physician Assistant Certification or Masters Level Nurse Practitioner with National Certification.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or regulatory agencies.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to use medical formulas (ie BMI, Creatinine Clearance, etc). Ability to dose medications according to patients age, weight, and renal function.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS The Physician Assistant must be board eligible to obtain a NC medical license or already carry a license to practice as a PA in NC. The Physician Assistant must obtain and maintain a DEA license. The Physician Assistant must maintain appropriate CME with documentation according to the NC medical board.
